async call to AS5400

Hi All,

I have configured as5400 for incoming async call using CE1 and 60NP modem.

sh controller e1 1/0 shows e1 link is up. It is configured as r2 signaling. Async interface as group is configured also.

But I am unsure, how can I establish a call into this as5400 as a client by telephone line.

help me out!!

Thanks and bets regards

Richard

Re: async call to AS5400

If you want to enable async calls to your AS5400, all you have to configure besides R2 signaling is 'modem inout' or 'modem dialin' on all tty lines coresponding to the 60 digital modems.

For example:

as5400#config term

as5400(config)#line 1 60

as5400(config-line)#modem dialin

Then use a terminal to dial the number assigned by your telco to the E1 hunt group and you should get the router prompt.

Cheers
