AT&T T1 Internet circuit/border router

I have a new T1 circuit from AT&T that is not coming up. I coded it the same as our current MCI line.

Do any of you all have the IOS setup for an AT&T line? I have a 2600 with a T1 WIC card, but other models would probably help.

You'll need to post some information about the circuit. Is it partial or full T-1. Is it frame relay, ppp, or hdlc?

It's a full T1, esf, b8zs, ppp (according to AT&T).

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-24 speed 64.

I think I need to concentrate on the encapsulation for interface Serial1/0:0 and interface Serial1/0:0.1 point-to-point.

can you paste in a sh int Serial1/0:0 , sh int Serial1/0:0.1 & sh frame-relay pvc

Re: AT&T T1 Internet circuit/border router

for a 512 K it would be

int s0/0

service-module t1 timeslots 1-8

for a full t it would be

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

Re: AT&T T1 Internet circuit/border router

interface FastEthernet0/0

description connected to PublicInt VLAN

ip address x.x.x.x x.x.x.x

ip route-cache same-interface

no ip mroute-cache

speed 100

full-duplex

!

interface Serial0/0

description Connection to AT&T MIS Public Internet

ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.252

encapsulation ppp

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

!

ip classless

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x

Obviously, this is using a 1 port WIC, if it's a 2 port VWIC the service-module command isn't the right one. In that case, you'd use the "Controller T1 x/x" command. Replace the x.x.x.x's with the IP's your AT&T rep provided you.

There's no need for a subinterface if this is just a P2P link, and not frame.

Re: AT&T T1 Internet circuit/border router

I'm trying to use our addressing as it is now - one IP address one the F0/0 port, unnumbered on the Serial1/0:0.1 sub interface.

With the Serial int as I have it now, the subint is no longer available.
