ATM interfaces

What is the limit for atm subinterfaces?

Ex. ATM2/0.1 through ATM2/0.99

Then it would go to ATM2/1.0

Then on through ATM2/9.99

Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Often times complex configuration issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, it’s often difficult to do so for this type of issue.

Re: ATM interfaces

Under this ATM interface if you type this command you get!

int atm5/0.?

That number looks like the total number of subnet interfaces. Also I imagine that it will depend on the hardware and its limitations.

Re: ATM interfaces

Logically you can use the subinterface up to 4294967295 but the real boundary is the memory capacity. Because every single logical interface will take up some space in the RAM.

Thus it depends on your RAM size.
