ATM route-bridge

I have a DSL client with the following configuration,

interface ATM4/ima1.5 point-to-point

bandwidth 256

ip address 210.3.17.65 255.255.255.240

atm route-bridged ip

pvc 0/38

encapsulation aal5snap

When his connection goes down. He can ping the gateway(210.3.17.65) but cannot go outside this.

From my end, I can ping also 210.3.17.65 but cannot go beyond his LAN. My client is saying that the problem is on our router.

Can someone explain?

It is indeed puzzling. You can probably check your routing table and use some IP or ATM related debugs to see what is happening.
