any detriment to having different UNI versions between cisco-7206 and lightstream-1010? 1010 is set to version 3.0 and 7206 is set to version 4.0

UNI version only matter if you are running ATM application that requires ATM signalling such as LANE, SVC. Otherwise you don't have to config the UNI version.
You can hardcode uni version on both side.

we are infact running LANE.
We have had this configuration for quite some time, and haven't noticed a problem. This was something I just happened to notice.
