AUI socket? how do i convert to "standard" cabling?

hi,

got this 2514 router where the ethernet sockets appears to be a format called AUI... i very mush need to get this router connected to a switch or hub, but how? is there a special cable that converts this AUI to TP-cable and RJ-45??

What you need is a device called a tranceiver. It is a small box that plugs directly into the AUI port and presents an RJ45 socket on the other end. They work well but are prone to disconnects on the AUI port when nudged.

You can get then reasonably cheaply at most electrical suppliers.

you can purchase transceivers from cisco,

model number is: BL50

P/N 74-0742-01

just be sure to set the switches on the unit as follows

1 & 3 = on

2 & 4 = off
