AUSM port states

Hi, I am searching for info on possible conditions for Port State, which is one of the parameters displayed using dspport on the CLI.

In particular, the meanings for each condition. I have thoroughly searched online resources to no avail.

Thanks

greg

Re: AUSM port states

Hi Greg,

Are you using the port as an IMA port or "regular port"? If you are using the port as a IMA port, the states are as follows:

1. Active

2. b/w change (bandwidth change)

3. Sig. failure (signaling failure)

4. Fail (major alarm, like line a line failure)

Pat

Re: AUSM port states

Thanks Pat, I am enquiring about a regular port, not IMA. But I imagine it would not be much different?

Re: AUSM port states

Hi Greg,

Right, not much different, in fact, you just won't have all the states. If you are using a regular ATM port, the states would be

Active

Line alarm

In addtion, if you have ILMI configured for the port, you can have an additional state:

Signaling Failure.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Pat
