Auto-notify util when a MAC connects to the network?

Hi all-

I'm looking for a utility or such that will periodically check the network (via either CAM or ARP tables or something) for one or more specified MAC addresses, and generate an alert (email?) when one of them is located. I'm sure there must be a way to do this... I run CW2000-LMS bundle, but I'm open to any outside software as well. Thanks!

mac-notification snmp trap is the closest towards the resolution. It will generate a trap each time a MAC address changes. You can then run a little shell script against the trap report to filter out the MAC you need.

You're right, that could work, but I can't roll out MAC address notification across my whole enterprise, 10,000 or so ports. Just the extra SNMP traffic alone would be more trouble than the problem is worth. I'm assuming there must be an app somewhere to check the core's CAM table or the router's ARP tables... Thank for your help though!
