Auto sense LMI-type

IF LMI type is not configured…. Can annexD for instance, auto sense Cisco… or annexA ?? (I understand the router will listen on both DLCIs, 0 & 1023… and send 3-requests at specified intervals… router will use last LMI type reply….true statement???!?) Are there issues/ concerns with keepalives, events ?? Can you troubleshoot end-end using different LMI types??

Re: Auto sense LMI-type

Yes as of 11.2 train, if you haven't configured "frame-relay lmi-type ...." router sends and listens all three type LMI messages on both DLCI 0 and 1023. The valid LMI type is the last heard one. For LMI protocol operates between FR DTE and DCE, no concern about using different LMI types on two endpoint FR DTEs. But of course main concern here is the compatibility of the LMI protocols running between local FR DTE - DCE pairs (e.g. router and FR switch).Hope this helps.

Regards.
