Automated Action Question

Hi all,

I've configured a couple of automated actions in CiscoWorks2000. Only thing that I would like to do is to reduce the number of message I receive. For example the other day some servers were causing errors on a switch. The syslog message was sent 2 times per minutes. So I received like 100 e-mails for the same problem in a very short period of time. We have people working here on weekends so I don't want to get 1000 messages when I come back on mondays because some guy misconfigured some thing.

Does any of you had this kind of "problem" if so, what action did you take ?

Hi,

Are you getting the same message again and again? Or is it different each time. If it is same message it could be like something is flapping, that is, changing states very often and the alarms could be geniune. You will have to check the switch or the device that generates the alarm.

Check your Automated Actions configuration.
