Back to Back T1 routers

I have two 2621 routers that I am trying to connect back to back to test legacy voice equipment in a VoIP scenario. How can I make the two routers talk to each other with the T1 CSU/DSU WICs? Looking for CLI commands and physical cable type.

I have 2-2611's with WICs connected back to back using a cross over cable with 1,2 4, & 5 (TR to RX, RX to TX) to simulate the WAN Connection. Sorry can't help with the VOIP part

Would you be willing to share your IOS configuration for the T1 connections? That is where I am having the problem.

Thank you,

John

Not sure which T1 WIC you have - there are 2 options:

1. FT1 WIC - shows up as serial x/y in the configuration:

interface serial x/y

service-module t1 framing esf

service-module t1 linecode b8zs

service-module t1 clock source internal (needs to be line on the other side)

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64

TO VERIFY - show service-module serial x/y

2. MFT WIC - shows up as controller t1 x/y in the configuration:

controller t1 x/y

framing esf

linecode b8zs

clock source internal (needs to be line on the other side)

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-24 speed 64

TO VERIFY - show controller t1 x/y
