backplane util on catalyst 5500 and 5000 using snmp

I found a document on cisco web site of how to obtain the backplane utilisation on Catalyst switches 5500 and 5000 using snmp.

(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32 for the 5500 and 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8 for the 5000 if anyone is interested)

I assume the 5500 has 4 backplanes because there are 4 different sysTrafficMeters listed. Does anybody know what module numbers each one of this backplanes cover?

Is there any document about this in the Cisco web site?

The 5000 lists only one backplane so there is no problem there.

Thanks for our help.

Arturo Maldonado.

You can poll sysTrafficMeterType (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.1) which you can use here, as it will tell you which switchingBus the value is for. Though you haven't mentioned as to what CatOS version you're running, since there was a known issue with the above, which has been fixed now. See CSCdw66441 via CCO Bug Toolkit for details.
