Backup Configuration

Hi,

What kind of files I need to backup for my C6500 switches + MSFC2 and PFC.

Also I have 20 3550 switch and some of them was stacked.Do I need to backup all switches configuration file a stacked group.

Hello Raymond,

I would definitely back up the configs of all stack members as well. On all devices, including the 6500, I would save the ´show tech-support´ command info, which gives you a detailed snapshot of the device and which can also serve as a benchmark for troubleshooting.

For 6500 family switch you have to backup configuration in both mode. Switch and Router(MSFC).

For 3550 Switches if there is Vlan configuration / Port speed configuration is there in each and every switch then better to take backup of all. If defaulrt configuration is there is no need to take backup.

Also better to take IOS backup for all in once.
