Backup over ADSL

HI!

I'm not very good at routers(& english :) ) and I need help.

I have network:

http://www.hot.ee/jyricp/backup.gif

I like to do backup - when main line(V.35) will go down then automatically backup line(ADSL) will go online.

Is it possible? Is this hardware configuration possible? What changes I must to do in the routing table?

What should I do?

Please help!

Thank you!

Jyri

Re: Backup over ADSL

you can specify the ADSL interface as a backup interface for yr v.35 interface. You also need to specify the backup delay for the same.

Re: Backup over ADSL

There are multiple ways to configure a "backup" scheme..

1) using "backup interface" command...You need to apply a "backup interface " command under the V.35 serial interface..Where interface name will be different based on the technology of the line...i.e.."backup interface dialer 1" for PPPoE etc..

2)using "folating static route" ..where the route to "dsl" line will have a higher metric then route thru "V.35 serial interface"

3) using "dialer watch" watching for routes..
