"Router (config) #bandwidth <value>" This command set bandwidth value for an interface. Is this correct command? Should this issue in interface config mode or global mode? Can bandwidth command use to limit the bandwidth of an interface? What is the default bandwidth for interfaces? Unlimited? Will this command works with sub-interface too?

The bandwidth command is applicable only to interfaces, not the global level. It is used to determine the link cost for link-state protocols, among other things. It does not affect the actual bandwidth of the interface. And it certainly does work with sub-interfaces.
