banner command question

Hi,

what are differences between the two following commands:

"aaa authentication banner" and "banner motd"

Hi Reza,

When a user connects to the router, the MOTD banner ("banner motd") appears *before* the login prompt.

The "aaa authentication banner" appears *after* the MOTD banner but *before* the login prompt.

A bit more info...

These commands are not mutually exclusive... you can use them together. The "aaa authentication banner" message only appears if the line on which a user connected has a non-null authentication method. It will not be displayed for lines that have a null authentication method. You would use the "aaa authentication banner" message to display an additional warning on those lines which require authentication...
