I would like to bench test several 2621 routers with WIC-1DSU-T1 cards. Can a cross-over cable be used between routers, in place of real T1 lines. I found a document "Using the Cisco 2524-2525 Back-to-Back" which describes this for T1 CSU/DSU and its RJ-48 cable. Has anyone done this with the RJ-45 cables and WIC-1DSU-T1?
If by "RJ-45 cables" you mean a regular old cat 5 patch cords, no. Pins 5 & 4 on one side need to connect to 1 & 2 on the other and vice versa. Neither a straight-through cat 5 cable nor an ethernet rollover cable does that. You generally need to make a T-1 rollover cable. RJ-45 crimp tools are reasonable priced these days.
