BGP and OSP redistributing static and connected

Hi, I´m checking all the routing protocols configurations in our ISP network. We are running OSP and BGP. We have near 600 clients connected via frame relay subinterfaces to one of our aggregate routers, that participate in both osp and bgp processes. Currently, we are redistributing static and connected routes in OSPF and BGP in order to advertise our customer addresses. I understand that´s a lot of memory and processing overhead and it´s not recommended configuration for an ISP, so, i would like to know about choices that i may have to avoid redistributing static and connected routes into my IGP and being able to reach and advertise my dedicated customers to the internet. Thanks ahead for your comments...

"BGP Case Studies" is a great place to start:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/browse/psp_view.pl?p=Internetworking:BGP&s=Network_Design

Also "Designing Large Scale Networks" at the same address,

and the OSPF Design Guide at:
