BGP - AUTO load balancing - PART1

Hi

Say a customer with router RTA is connecting to

a single provider with 2 link ,terminating at

RTB and RTC respectively .

eBGP between RTA and RTB , eBGP between RTA and

RTC .

RTA recieve just a single identical route (say

192.213.10.0/24)from RTA and RTB .

RTA is config with "maximum-path 2" so 2

route to 192.213.10.0/24 will be installed on the

IP routing table .

RTA is config with "Ip 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.213.10.0)

to point a deafult to network 192.213.10.0 .

The question is how RTA will load balance

traffic destination to the internet (using

the default route ) in the following cases :

Case 1 : Interfaces of RTA toward RTB and RTC are

fast-switching . (Ip route-cache).

is load balancing done on destination-based

or on network based ??

In case it is a network , is it a

classfull network .

Ie: Traffic to any destination

which fall say within class B

172.16.0.0/16 will always go

over a single link .

Case 2 : Interface of RTA toward RTB and RTC are

not fast-switching .

Guess it is packet based .

N.B: The address used above is just for example .

Brgds
