Hello,
I have configured netflow on my router, when I do a ´show ip cache flow´ I can see the flows for BGP, but I cannot see the source and destination for those BGP flows, that is, the last line is empty. When I ping the other side, I can see the src and dst just fine. Does anybody have an idea on how to configure Netflow so that the source and destination shows, or is this possibly the default behaviour for BGP packets ?
I am grateful for any help.

Hello Georg,
This is normal behavior. The information with IP address at the bottom is actually for active flows. This information is removed for flows that have been inactive for more than 15 seconds.
Hope this helps,

Hi guys,
I have a question on netflow on the routers. What kind of a appliation is there to use for export of data from the flow?
Also, would this be recommendaed for a Cisco 2621 router? because I assume this is a very cpu intensive process.
THx,
Masood

There is many different software you can use to collect and analyse netflow information.
Here are some links to some Cisco and partners applications:
Cisco Applications:

Partners Commercial Applications:

Hello,
thanks for the answer. The problem is that I do not see anything even after clearing BGP, and after setting the inactive timeout to a higher value. I see the number of flows for BGP increasing, but no source and destination.

can you post the relevant netflow configuration. Also what version of IOS are you running.
Thanks,
