BGP local preference...

Have following network configuration,

r2 ------- r4

AAAAAA

AAAAAA

AAAAAA

r3---------r1

r2 in AS200

r4 in AS400

r3,r1 in AS300

EBGP between r2-r4, r3-r2, r1-r4

IBGP between r1-r3

configured default local preference 3000 on r3

configured default local preference 45000 on r1

check the BGP status on r3, it still shows that the best path to r4's loopback interface is r2, not r1.

Any idear about this?

Re: BGP local preference...

Did you reset the BGP process with one of the 'clear ip bgp' variations after you changed the preference?

Re: BGP local preference...

Actually I found the reason. I forgot to turn off synchronization in those IBGP peers.

Thanks anyway.
