We are in AS#1, peering eBGP with AS#2.. One of the advertisment sent from AS#1 to AS#2 is tagged with community "no-export". AS#2 sees the route coming with the no-export, however for some reason AS#2 still advertising the network to other eBGP neighbor.. I do not have access to AS#2.. So what could be wrong?

Hello Ahmede,
Start with basic configuration verification.
Are you sending communities to your neighbor?
dtl828-Bdr#show run | include send-community
neighbor 214.42.3.223 send-community
Is the no-export attribute set in the advertised network?
dtl828-Bdr# show ip bgp 140.26.0.0 | include no-export
Community: no-export
If the configuration on your side is correct, you need to contact your peer. Do they have a policy in place that removes communities?

As I mnetioned in my original posting. AS#2 can see the no-export community on the route..

Hello,
in addition to Leo's post, can you post the (BGP) configurations of both routers ?

Hi,
It is possible in AS 2 they are redistributing that routes into IGP which removes the route coummunity than they are publishng it to other eBGP neighbor it's possible if it is ISP provided block or they have summarized at your network boundary.
please rate if it helps.
