Bonding of Leased and ISDN Line

Dear all,

I have a Point to Point Lease Link from my Head Office to Regional Office

I also have a ISDN line as a backup link

I want to disable the backup option and bond both Lease as well as ISDN link

I don’t want to use PPP multilink

I want the Lease and ISDN line in always

up mode (Total bandwidth = 64+128 = 192KBPS)

64 = Lease Line

128 = ISDN Line

Any workaround CONFIG is welcomed

You need to keep the backup configuration that you have, but enable a backup to occur based upon the line load of your serial interface. To do this, in your serial interface configuration:

interface serial 0

backup interface bri0

backup load 0 0

This will make the BRI interface dial automatically no matter what the line condition or load is on the serial interface. Here is a link:

That said, you may find yourself saving money by checking into increasing the bandwidth of your serial line instead of paying per-minute costs on your ISDN line 24/7. Just a thought.
