Boot ROM with no support for the FastEthernet on a 7206/NPE150

We have a 7206(NPE-150/128MB RAM/16MB Flash) using a C7200-I/O-FE supervisor module. When the router boots, there is no support for the Ethernet interface on the supervisor. I receive the following error message during boot.

GT64010: Device ID error, got 0x5601

After booting, I repeatedly receive the following error message.

%DEC21140-3-ERRINT: FastEthernet0/0 csr0=0xFFFA4882, csr5=0xFCB6A000

I have tried several things in attempt to get this device working.

Upgraded the Bootflash to IOS 12.0.22

Upgraded the IOS to 12.2.10a

Changed all patch cables to known good cables.

Changed to a known good port on the connected switch.

Also, the ethernet does not work when booting off of the boot ROM! The boot ROM IOS version is 11.1(10).

I have been unsuccessful in troubleshooting this error. From what I can tell from a 'show interface' command, this router is sending and receiving packets. However, when I go into the switch it is connected to (Catalyst 2924), it shows 0 received packets. Another strange thing, if I do a 'show cdp neighbors' from the 2924, it doesn't see the 7206. When I do a 'show cdp neighbors' from the 7206, it sees the 2924!

If anyone has seen this error before or can think of anything I might have missed, please let me know. This router was working before being removed from a production cycle. Unfortunately, the flash was formatted and the original engineer doesn't remember what code release he had on it. :-)

Here is the output from the 'show interface FastEthernet0/0' command.

Re: Boot ROM with no support for the FastEthernet on a 7206/NPE1

A bug was filed for this(CSCdt10130), and the bug was closed saying it was a bad hardware(NPE or Chassis)

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCdt10130

I suggest that you open a TAC case and provide relevant info to the TAC Engineer to isolate what is bad
