I have test router 1603 and i try to boot using image from tftp - in config i have

boot system tftp://A.B.C.D/c1600-y-l.121-2b.bin

------------------

after reload i see message on console -

Loading tftp://A.B.C.D/c1600-y-l.121-2b.bin ... [timed out]

----------------------

From sniffer i get message-

A.B.C.F -> BROADCAST TFTP Read "tftp://A.B.C.D/c1600-y-l.121-2b.bin" (octet)

A.B.C.D -> A.B.C.F TFTP Error: file not found

--------

But c1600-y-l.121-2b.bin exactly at TFTP server

Also i can made next from router

#copy run tftp://A.B.C.D/run

Where i'm wrong?

what tftp server are you using, look at its logs, should give you same message you see with sniffer, make sure root directory of tftp server is correct, if cisco's tftp server go under options. you could try a copy start tftp to the tftp server and see which directory it goes in by default.

I found my mistake!

When i wrote next -

#boot system tftp c1600-y-l.121-2b.bin A.B.C.D

router booted image from TFTP server.
