Might seem trivial, but try to confirm the name of the file, you could be mis-spelling it. See also if you can boot the router with any other image from the tftp in case that file itself is the problem

have cheked the file name, and tried with another IOS same response.

Hi

Could it be because the file on the tftp server is to big for the flash on you router?

Because in the posting you say the router has a flash of 8mb which is

to small for the image which you say is 9MB.

Try ones a smaller ios which fits 8MB.

Hope that helps

Roger

thats why iam booting from the tftp server as it is 9MB.

Hello,

which other IOS have you tried to install ? The one you indicate (c2600-is-mz.121-2b.bin) requires 40MB DRAM, so 32MB is not enough.

Hi

What do you mean with "that's why you boot from the tftp"?

Just because you load it from the tftp server that does not make the ios smaller!

Along the same lines...

on the tftp server ensure that the root directory has the specific file.

ensure the exact file name.

ensure that the tftp server is ON THE SAME SUBNET.

IF you have a router between the router being loaded and the host, I've seen some crap come up (like 30% lost packets ).
