as I understand it, RPVST does not eliminate BPDUs, it just uses a new BPDU format, and sends the BPDUs at the Hello interval configured on the switch. You will see even more BPDU packets with RPVST, since the switch itself generates them, instead of getting them from the root bridge and passing them on.
As for DISL frames: the ports on your 6509 default to dynamic trunking mode, which means they send out DISL/DTP negotiation packets. In order to get rid of those frames, use the ´switchport nonegotiate´ interface command.
