Bridge Group on 3600 problems

We use bridge groups on our 3600 series routers for DSL customers requiring /30's or /29's of public IP space. The last two interfaces I setup displayed strange behaviour. This is the config....( addresses changed)

#bridge 9 protocol ieee

#bridge 9 route ip

#int bvi9

#ip address 192.168.1.17 255.255.255.252

#no ip directed-broadcast

#interface atm1/0.133 point-to-point

#description : VPI/VCI 1/133, Customer, bridged

#no ip directed-broadcast

#atm pvc 133 1 133 aal5snap

#bridge-group 9

With this config the .17 address becomes unusable. When I ping it I get a response from the router, not the user. This is new behaviour.

Version 12.0(7)T2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps a bug? I would chat with TAC about it.
