Bridge Groups, BVIs and ACLs

If I have multiple atm subints and each of the subints have their own pvc which is a part of one or another bridge-group, can I assign an access-list to the BVI interface instead of each individual sub-interface?

If an access-list is applied to the BVI interface, traffic will not get filtered until it goes from the BVI interface to another routeable interface.
