Broadcast on point to point link

Hi,

I can see on serial interface of router-

"Received 58 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles"

What may be the cause of broadcast received on serial interface( point to point link)...its very strange for me

thanks

Re: Broadcast on point to point link

Some routing protocols (such as RIPv1 and IGRP) uses broadcasts to send routing updates.

Re: Broadcast on point to point link

we are not running any routing protocol on this link at our side . With the ISP side running routing protocol will send this broadcast ?

further , is there any way to findout what traffic consist this broadcast ?

I mean with the help of access-list or by some other mean .
