I'm trying to find some reading materials. My question is: If I enable broadcast suppression on my Catalyst 2950 switches, will this prevent users from obtain IP addresses from the Windows DHCP server?
If you are not experiencing excessive broadcasts then there should be no troubles. This is also very dependent on the thresholds you set. The broadcast suppression or storm control feature on the 2950 is documented here:
