Broadcast

Hi all

I have connected 2 6509 Native IOS switches through 2 trunks...i have port chanelled them into one group..they are trunk...but when i use this commands

sh interface port-channel 100

sh interface gigabitethernet 3/1

sh interface gigabitethernet 3/2

I can see that the broadcast packets are 100% ....

why is this?? is this normal behaviour ?? is this the heart beat ??

Hi

Are you currently loading LAN(s) traffic through that trunk?? if not clear the counters and watch the behavior. If yes check the counters for anything else besides Broadcast at a 100% is not a normal behavior. If you still dont have a clue about were the broadcast come from I would recommend to do a port sniffer or mirroring and connect a protocol analyzer to see exactly whats kind of broadcast traffic you are having.
