Building and ISP network

HI i need to build a network infrastructure that will be used for : 1) ISP services 2) corporate lan.

I already have :

a) Cisco 3640 router (ATM-SERIAL-FastEthernet-DigitalMOdems)

b) cisco 2912xl switch

c)cisco ce550 cache-engine-

d) Patton 2960/120 RAS

e)cisco pix 520 ( three NICS)

f)1.5mbs IPLC (as total bandwidth)

g) three ip subnets ( each 254 host )

i have already done the setup and it is working , but i fear i have not done it as it should . I want to optimize the network for security and speed..

There is no ready made solution for your question since the features or solution used would depend on the specific network. But, you can implement some of the standard guidelines necessary for securing every network. I would suggest that you turn on only services or protocols that are necessary for your network with appropriate passwords for devices, privilege levels on the devices for various users and filters for blocking unnecessary traffic. There are also various features in IOS which can be used to prevent various types of attacks. The best place to refer is the Cisco documentation CD and cisco.com website which has great deal of information about the various aspects of security.
