Bundling T1's

I have 2 T1 lines and 2 1721 routers each with 2 T1 csu/dsu NIC cards. How do I make it so that the routers will use both T1's as a single line to get at least 2 megs throughput. Any suggestions/configs are apprecciated.

thanks

Dale

Re: Bundling T1's

Hi

You can try bundling them using PPP Multilink Bundling technology.

do check out a sample config reqd on both the routers..

Site A

interface Multilink1

ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.252

no cdp enable

ppp multilink

no ppp multilink fragmentation

multilink-group 1

!

interface Serial1/0

no ip address

ip route-cache distributed

encapsulation ppp

no fair-queue

ppp multilink

multilink-group 1

!

interface Serial1/1

no ip address

ip route-cache distributed

encapsulation ppp

no fair-queue

ppp multilink

multilink-group 1

Site B

interface Multilink1

ip address 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.252

no cdp enable

ppp multilink

no ppp multilink fragmentation

multilink-group 1

!

interface Serial1/0

no ip address

ip route-cache distributed

encapsulation ppp

no fair-queue

ppp multilink

multilink-group 1

!

interface Serial1/1

no ip address

ip route-cache distributed

encapsulation ppp

no fair-queue

ppp multilink

multilink-group 1

do take care of serial interface numbering and configure accordingly in you router..
