I have a term svr with a bnc 10base2 connection which I'm trying to make redundant by connecting to two 2950's via two 10base2/tp media converters. Spanning-tree is blocking the desired port, but when it does I loose all connectivity to my device. I have tried multiple implementations of stp and don't see a difference. I don't believe this is a stp problem. Does anyone have any experience with this type of connectivity?
Try disabling port-fast on the ports, check whether the media-type is set correct on the switch. Try to make the Desired Port forwarding by changing the port priority. Please refer the following document.
