BVI / VLAN

I have a BVI set up on a 2948 L3 and it works fine for isolating traffic, it is configured as a second subnet and I have a wireless accss point set up on it. I can communicate with the access point but users can not validate. My question is if this will ever work on a 2948 L3 because it doesn't support VLAN.

I currently have no VLAN set on this access point. On several other switches (1900en and 2924xl) I have vlan 200 configured and the corresponding access points set to the same vlan 200 and the work great and the trafficce is segregated for the rest of the network. I need help.....

It does support VLAN's, just not in the nice way the Cat 3550's or 6500's do. You need to configure BVI's and ISL/802.1q Trunks (sub-interfaces), although you are limited on the number of BVI's you can configure.

Take a look at the following page on CCO:

I would still probably consider trading the 2948G-L3 for some 3550's though....
