C3750 stacking cables

Does anyone know the difference between the Non-Halogen Lead Free Stacking Cable (CAB-STACK-50CM-NH) and the normal stacking cable (CAB-STACK-50CM)?

Re: C3750 stacking cables

Ivan,

Browsing through cisco website, doesnt yield much. So I called Cisco Presales..and they didnt have much info either on this cable. But the tech told me that this cable was introduced to address operating temperature issues with these cables. He said, these cables can withstand extreme temperature conditions. And cost wise, these are a lot cheaper (50$ cheaper) than the regular ones. Weird isnt it..

Sankar.

PS: Non-halogen compounds are widely used these days in the market which provides flame retardation, low smoke and corrosivity. So these cables go with the fire code.

Re: C3750 stacking cables

the NH stands for Non Halogen CAB-STACK=3M-NH which is a Europe standard;. Also known as LSZH Low Smoke Zero Halogen. Europe uses the Non Halogen standard which in USDA we use a CMP or Plenum version for fire rating
