We have twice catalyst 6500, they have a giga connection to interconect between these. what's right cable configuration to use in this connection?. In documentation about this topic Cisco talks about a total crossover configuration, but when we tried with this configuration, it didn't work. We tested with a simple crossover connection and 568-B configurations. These configuration worked. Is there a error in Cisco's documentation or exist another kind of explanation?

If you are using fiber cables, the transmit and receive leads have to be crossed at one end, so that both devices can communicate.

we're using utp cable to interconnect both switches

A total cross over wont work. You need to use the normal cross over.
1,2,3,6 crossed.
Please post the link you visited at Cisco, to analyze if the documentation was wrong.

It depends on what type of GBIC standard u r using. The simple crossover works for a 1000BaseT standard, while the 4 pair crossover (full cross over) will work for 1000BaseT4 standards.
