Callback from different PRI

There are 4 ISDN PRIs on AS5300, and 3 of them are active at the moment. First PRI comes from Telco, the others are for local use and come from local PBX. The dialed numbers of each are different.

Users call 5224300 (DID number of first PRI) and are connected to my device. After Tacacs authentication, AS5300 drops the call then initiates the callback if necessary.

I observed that callback could be initiated from first, second or the third PRI ports. If the call goes through the local PBX, it will bedropped. In short, I should initiate a callback from the first PRI, however the callback goes to the second then the third PRI if I tired over and over. Therefore, the users experience timeout and they try again.

Is it an usual practice, or is it possible to restrict callback to first PRI connection (ser 0:15) only.

Thanks for all..

Onur

Re: Callback from different PRI

You got it. You need to run the image as mentioned or later, which supports that command. So go for the latest .T release, if possible, after checking the required DRAM and FLASH that you have on AS5300.

Re: Callback from different PRI

Sure..you can restrict AS5300 for dialout (for callback) to use certain PRI line using command "modem dialout controller E1 x" under the line config.

Pl. visit following url for more on that

Re: Callback from different PRI

While I am just reading the article, you send the message. Wouvv, so fast. I have checked the commands under the "line", however there is no such a command. What should I do next? IOS upgrading?

Thanks,

Onur

IOS of my AS5300 is "c5300-is-mz.121-4.bin".

It was stated in the document that:

"Note: The modem dialout controller command was introduced in 12.1(T). We recommend IOS release 12.1(3)T or higher for this implementation. The modem dialout controller command supports multiple interfaces as of 12.1(5)T. "

From my AS5300:

as5300(config-line)#modem ?

CTS-Alarm Alarm device which only uses CTS for call control

DTR-active Leave DTR low unless line has an active incoming connection

or EXEC

Dialin Configure line for a modern dial-in modem

Host Devices that expect an incoming modem call

InOut Configure line for incoming AND outgoing use of modem

Printer Devices that require DSR/CD active

answer-timeout Set interval between raising DTR and CTS response

at-mode-permit Permit Direct Connect session

autoconfigure Automatically configure modem on line

bad Mark modem as bad

busyout Block calls to and from the modem

dtr-delay Set interval during which DTR is held low

hold-reset Set modem in reset mode

log Set rs232 log event

shutdown Immediate busyout of modem

status-poll Modem Management status polling

Re: Callback from different PRI

I will probably upgrade the necessary release soon.

Thanks,
