CAM tables on C2950G

Hi all,

Does a Catalyst 2950G keep a seperate CAM table for each configured VLAN?

I have a L3 device connected to two VLANs on C2950G. The funny part is that this L3 device has the same MAC (vritual) address for all of it's interfaces. Actually, this L3 device is a FWSM installed in a C6509.

What I'm seeing is that after ARP caches on other L3 devices timeout, for some reason, further ARP requests don't get through. I have to manualy clear the ARP cache on other L3 devices in order to reestablish connectivity.

Any pointers?

You may use the arp timeout command to configure how long an entry remains in the ARP cache. A value of zero means that entries are never cleared from the cache. Command reference is available at:
