Sirs,
I am running CiscoWorks 2000, LMS, 2.1, on Solaris 2.8, on one server, and NNM 6.2 on Solaris 2.8 on another. (A couple of Sun 280Rs)
We are looking at a network of around 2,000 Cisco devices.
On running an ANI Campus Manager discovery, NNM reports numerous/random VLANS down, with 95% of those reported on 4006 switches.
If you run discovery on a few indiviual devices, the fault does not occur.
Other than these occurances NNM is very reliable on its status polling.
Any words of wisdom out there ?
Regards,
Fred.

If you know what objects is being polled by NNM to determine this "NNM reports numerous/random VLANS down, with 95% of those reported on 4006", you can poll those manually to narrow down this further and compare the results further.

What do you mean when you say NNM reports VLAN's down? Is it based on traps from the switches?
NNM doesn't poll or discover any VLAN information itself. VLAN discovey and mapping is first supported with NNM 6.31 plus NNM Extended Topology 1.51.
