Can anyone recommend a syslog server

Hi all,

I am looking for a decent syslog server. I have downloaded the Kiwi Syslog Daemon and this is $50 to register which seems reasonable. Has anyone used this or could anybody recommend anything else. I want something reliable but not too expensive, with all the usual features like e-mail forwarding etc.

Download 3Com's 3CDaemon. It's a pretty good ftp/tftp/syslog application and it's FREE! You can d/l it from their website

I'm using Kiwi here and there are some useful features like message filtering that are not available on 3CDeamon, but if you're looking at something simple and free then that's the one.

Just one other thing, what is the best level to send e-mail or pager alerts to.
