Can I change the Ciscoworks to SNMP version 2 only?

Hi All,

Can I change the Ciscoworks to initiate connection to Cisco device with SNMP version 2 only?

I am working with Ciscoworks LMS version 2.2.

I configure the Cisco device to SNMP version 2 only.

Thanks in advance

David

You can't change CW to use v2c only. However, the logic determine when to use v1 and v2c is already built in code. For example, when we poll ifHC counters, we use v2c. For PIX, we use v2c. Most other objects, we use v1.

There isn't a way to configure devices to use v2c. When you configure a communinity string, both v1 and v2c requests will be processed.
