I need to modify the field IfDescr in the MIB tree (RFC1213-MIB) for each port on my switch (cisco3500).
Can someone tell me if it's possible?
Thank you.

Hi Millerv,
first of all thanks for your answer.
I already read that Guide, but I haven't found nothing about the command to use to change the values of the MIB field.
I think that I have to use the CLI to do it because the IfDescr field is marked as "read-only" so I can't use an SNMP agent.
Do you know how can I do it?
Thank again

Tiziano,
When you can query the locIfDescr from the private MIB on 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.28.x where x is the interface number that does give you the info that is entered with the description interface command or through the web interface. Another one is the IfAlias.x from the standard MIB at 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18.x where x is the int#+1
Hope this helps, Maarten Sjouw.
