Can i define an absolute timer for ISDN

Is there a timer within the IOS to enable me to disconnect an ISDN line whether it is idle or not after, say 60 Minutes. dialer idle-timeout is not an appropriate solution.

Not directly, but there might be a workaround:

Set the dialer-idle timeout to 3600 seconds

Configure a dialer-list that does NOT match any traffic that traverses the link.

In this way the line will always drop after one hour.

The only problem you have now is how to initialize the connection. Normally this is done by a matching packet. When the line is triggered by an incoming call, there is no problem. In case you need to setup the link from your own side, it must be done manually. You could trigger the connection by a ping from your own workstation or tell a user to click an icon first.

Be a little inventive!

I want to stress that this is not a normal way of operating a DDR connection.

Do not use this setup unless you see no other possibility.
