Can I enter that same MAC address on multiple 5505 ports?
We're using Microsoft software load balancing which uses a virtual MAC address assigned to however many boxes are participating in the load balancing cluster. This causes the switch to flood all traffic destined to the virtual MAC address to all ports of the switch - which is not good.
I was thinking if I could hard code that virtual MAC address to the ports the custer servers on on this may solve the problem - almost like a multicast group.
Will this work on a catalyst 5505?
Would I set them as 'permement' or 'static' entries?
