I was installing QDM on a Cat. 6509, but the routing-engine came with an older version of IOS that it's not the minimum necessary to run the applet.
My question is: I can request to Cisco an updated IOS image just to run the QDM?
I just need to get from version 12.1(8a)E5 to 12.1(8a)EX. Even being such a small update, it could be done?
Thanks a lot!

What I was supposed to do with that page?

That is correct. QDM is supported fom 12.1(8a)EX. I'm assuming that you are running native IOS.

12.1(8a)E5 to 12.1(8a)EX is not a small update. EX is a different train and I suggest that you read the release notes for new features and known issues

I suggest that you upgrade to 12.1(11b)E4. You can download software from CCO at

Thanks a lot!
I've read some doc's about the mixed mode software and native IOS.
What's the difference?
