On the 4500 series switch, can I shutdown the switch from command line? (using telnet or console port)

Hi,
There is no way (either catOS or IOS) to power down a chassis from the CLI. You'll have to have physical access to do this.

The only way I know of to do this is to get a power system that you can access remotelyVarious vendors have them). From this device you can shutdown specific power outlets within that system. That way you can do a cold boot of a device remotely, if needed....
