Hi Iqbal,

You can if you use 2 different AD(Administrative Distance) for sure but with same AD I m not sure how will it behave.

Re: Can I Use Two default route in a router ?

hi

AFIAK it depends upon the requirement in first place if you need to have some kinda load balancing then u configure them w/o any admin distance attached to them at the end of the statements.

if you want to have reduandancy with the links you can again configure them with the admin distance attached to the statement.

It basically depends on the requirement where your going to use them up.

do revert if you require more info on this..

Re: Can I Use Two default route in a router ?

Hi

different admin distance like 0 and 1

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial0 0 (ISP1)

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial1 1 (ISP2)

i want redundancy purpose . Think ISP1 more bandwidth then ISP2. so first prioty data pass ISP1

and if any reason first ISP1 fail then data pass 2nd ISP.

Thanks

Re: Can I Use Two default route in a router ?

Hi Iqbal,

It will work.

Yes the admin distance for serial0 is 0 so it will be preferred first and once serial0 goes down that default route will be removed from the routing table and second default route will be preferred having admin distance 1.

Your config is perfectly fine
