Hi there,
I have a cisco 3660 router. my routers flash memory has been erased. the router boots in its rom. now i am trying to copy a new flash image to the router (Tried it with tftp and xmodem) . But i get the message that there is not enough space on the flash (there is 32 MB of flash mem in the router, should be enough for a 16 MB image). when i want to look in the flash memory from the romm(with dir flash:) i get the following message:
- device does not contain a valid magic number
- dir: cannot open device "flash:"
does anyone have a solution to this problem.

Hello,
the above error message means that the Flash is empty or the filesystem is corrupted. Try xmodem to download the IOS:

Try to Upgrade with the command tftpdnld Rommon command is most fast. The Xmodem is too slow.

I have tried with xmodem and with tftp.
I get the message that there is not enough space. But i got 32 MB
